About US

Lumber Transport, Inc. (LTI) is a closely held, private corporation headquartered in Cochran, GA, a small town located 40 miles southeast of Macon, GA. We have 48 state common and contract authority transporting general commodities on flatbeds and vans mainly in the Southeastern, Southwestern & Midwestern portion of the United States.

Our beginning stems back to 1961 when LTI was incorporated under Georgia state law and was solely owned and operated by the late Mr. Leroy Hamrick. Today, the company continues to be family owned under the direction of Buddy and Linda Hamrick. They both remain directly involved in the day-to-day operations and management of the company.

In 1986, the Hamrick’s expanded into a new area of the transportation business opening their first warehouse operation in Savannah, GA consisting of 255,000 sq. feet of storage space and years later opening another warehouse facility consisting of 100,000 sq. feet of storage space. Both warehouses are custom designed and engineered for maximum efficiency, including overhead cranes, an assortment of forklift, drive-through and rear loading/unloading capabilities.

Lumber Transport became well known in the trucking industry as a result of the company’s strength, integrity and solvency throughout the years. Our mission to provide trucking and warehousing services built on solid relationships with quality and dedicated service remains today.

OWNER-OPERATORS & SMALL FLEET OWNERS NEEDED

We understand that taking the step to lease to another company is a major decision. We also realize that as you compare what various trucking companies have to offer, most packages are somewhat similar. So what makes LTI any different?

For starters, we take pride in the fact that we are financially sound and that we have been in business since 1961. During this time, we have established a customer base that will keep you busy year round. We have company-owned terminals and agencies set up throughout the U. S. to minimize your deadhead and keep you moving. A full-time freight coordinator and management contact person will be assigned to you to insure your profitability with our company. We are a 100% owner-operator company so you will not have to compete with any company trucks. Being home with you family is important to us too, and we take pride in the fact that most of our drivers are home each and every weekend.

Once you application has been approved we will set a date that is convenient for you to lease on. Leasing will be done in our corporate office in Cochran, Georgia. You will be leased on in one day and we will be able to load you out the same afternoon.
